This post continues as one of many into the personal diaries of a familiar warrior. It is the continuing story of a battle for wholistic healing and freedom. You are certain to identify with the agonizing conflict and magnificent conquest of this resolute warrior seeking peace one poised breath at a time. Step into her shoes. Become her…for she is you. She is me and she will be free.

DAY 2 ~ TACOS ARE THERAPY

My view as I jot this entry is captivated by the 11 o'clock sun beaming down on snow-heavy roofs and pine tree forest. A peculiar sight in the spring but these are the mountains. There is a crisp note in the air, but there is new life peeking out from the most unexpected places. Even though this space is located in a subdivision of cabins we feel isolated with much nature to please our senses.

The morning is slow and intentional. Some read, some walk. This morning as each of us wrapped up our morning stillness, one by one grabbing a plate of a sausage and egg skillet, we gathered around the kitchen table and decided we needed some movement and fun. So we donned our boots and mittens and embarked on a 2-mile jaunt towards town. The spring streets of McCall were still piled high with snow though the paths were clear and only slightly sloshy. We visited several quaint little shops full of intriguing treasures and must-haves.

Lakeside tacos were a unanimous vote for lunch. We drank in the breathtaking view with every bite. It was therapy to get some fresh air and sunshine. It grounded us after so many deep conversations. This weekend I found it...my tribe. They know how and are willing to go deep. They aren't afraid of it. There is safety and belonging in this circle. It's the most incredible feeling to be with people who can commune in the deep things. Even more incredible is the immediate comradery and simple knowing that we all "get it". The evening ended with laughter over a new release comedic film, more healing food, and more deep sleep.

This post is a sneak peek into some of what you'll experience at our Warrior Weekend coming up in October. More details at the link below. Register before September 1st with the code EARLYBIRD24 for $50 off.
