This post is for the warrior who has given up all hope of living free in her body. She's tried what seems to be everything and now believes she's cursed to suffer forever in a body she hates. The illusion of health always just out of reach, she is giving up. Choosing to hide under layers of Spanx and makeup, her fashion choices include only the oversized and stretchy. Avoiding her reflection in every mirror, she's haunted by what she desperately wants but believes she'll never achieve. She doesn't even care about her size anymore, she just wants to stop hurting inside, aching every time she moves, longing to silence the inner turmoil that swirls in her head 24/7. Every commercial, every billboard, every scroll, all demanding she get her shit together. Her once tender heart now judges those around her who make her feel small, fat, unhealthy, shameful, though it is never their intention to do so, she finds herself so fragile and unsettled in herself. Will she ever be free? All she knows is that time is certainly limited for how long she can carry this weight.

While this description may seem extreme to some, countless women are living in this kind of shame. Some appear fit on the outside but deep within they are empty. The very word "fitness" can bring up so much frustration and honestly, I refuse to use it due to the way our culture has tainted it. Our physical bodies carry the weight of our inner turmoil, our stories, our pain. The woman I introduced you to above was me not that long ago. So full of self-hatred and disdain. So angry at the world and everyone in it. This unrest was damaging my physical health and vitality. Why? There's always a story behind this kind of pain and behavior. It runs deeper than the present physical ailment. It is by miraculous design that our body can communicate with us in the way she does. The aches and pains alert us to something amis allowing us the opportunity to nurture and love her back to health like a small child.

Can you relate? Do you find yourself wandering through life in a body that desperately wants to break free and thrive with the energy and vitality of a child? Do you also hate the word "fitness"? I want you to know...I see you. I know you because I've been you and I want you to sit with this thought for a minute...Your precious body is the vehicle that carries your beautiful heart, love, ideas, and outstanding contributions to this world. Does she really deserve to be treated the way that you've been treating her? Think about what she's been through. She is so brave. She is a survivor. She is a warrior and she wants to thrive. She's craving your love and tender care.

I get that the holiday season is the hardest time to talk about health and fitness. We want to save that for January when we collectively resolve to get healthier and shame ourselves for indulging so much during the holidays. While this is society's trend, I invite you into a new approach. What if, you practiced immense gratitude as you indulged? What if you allowed her, your miraculous body, to guide you in every bite, making the most of the present memories? What if, when she declares a need, you listen? This is what it looks like to live free in your body.

So ENJOY and THRIVE this holiday season! I can't wait to hear how it went as you embrace all the hope that this time of year has to offer. Then, let's talk! Schedule a FREE Freedom Check and let's create a battle plan for you to step into physical wellness and freedom in 2025 from surviving to thriving.
